ఏనుగు కథ ఏమిటంటే?

కాకినాడ ప్రాంతంలో పీవీఆర్, సముద్రం కుటుంబాల మధ్య వైరం ఉంటుంది. పీవీఆర్ కుటుంబానికి, తన సవతి తల్లి కొడుకులు (సముద్రఖని, బోస్ వెంకట్, సంజీవ్)‌కు రవి (అరుణ్ విజయ్) కొండంత బలంగా ఉంటాడు. సముద్రం కుటుంబానికి చెందిన లింగం (కేజీఎఫ్ గురుడ రామ్)‌తో రవికి వైరుధ్యం ఉంటుంది. ఈ క్రమంలో తన అన్న (సముద్రఖని) కూతురు దేవీ (అమ్ము అభిరామి) ముస్లిం యువకుడితో లేచిపోతుంది.

సముద్రం, పీఆర్వీ కుటుంబానికి వైరుధ్యం ఎందుకు ఏర్పడింది? ఈ రెండు కుటుంబాలు పగ, పత్రీకారంతో ఎందుకు చెలరేగిపోతాయి. తొలి చూపులోనే ఇష్టపడిన క్రిస్టియన్ యువతి (ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్) తో రవి ప్రేమ ఎలాంటి మలుపు తిరిగింది? ప్రేమించిన వ్యక్తితో అన్న కూతురు లేచిపోవడంతో రవి ఎలాంటి సమస్యలను ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు?. తన తండ్రి మరణం కుటుంబంలో ఎలాంటి చిచ్చు పెట్టింది? తనను చంపాలని పథకం వేసిన అన్న (సముద్రఖని)కి ఎలాంటి గుణపాఠం నేర్పాడు. తన అన్న కూతురు ఎత్తికెళ్లిన లింగంలో మార్పుకు రవి ఎలా కారణమయ్యాడు అనే ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానమే ఏనుగు కథ.

ఫస్టాఫ్ ఎలా ఉందంటే?

ఏనుగు సినిమాలోని పలు రకాల క్యారెక్టర్లు, వాటి క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్లను ప్రేక్షకులకు పరిచయం చేయడానికి చాలా సమయం తీసుకోవడంతో సినిమా అసలు కథ చెప్పడానికి సగభాగం అయిపోతుంది. కాకపోతే కథను ఎస్టాబ్లిష్ చేయడానికి అనుసరించిన విధానం బాగుంది. స్లోగా, నింపాదిగా కథను ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లడంతో సినిమా నిడివి ఎక్కువ అనిపిస్తుంది. గ్రామంలో కక్షలు, ప్రతీకారం లాంటి అంశాలు రొటీన్‌గా అనిపిస్తాయి. పీఆర్వీ కుటుంబంలో చీలికలు రావడం లాంటి ఎమోషనల్‌ అంశంతో కథ ముగుస్తుంది.

సెకండాఫ్‌లో అసలు కథ..

ఏనుగు సినిమా అసలు కథ రెండో భాగంలో మొదలవుతుంది. తన అన్న కూతురు ముస్లిం యువకుడితో లేచిపోయిన అంశం సినిమాను ముందుకు డ్రైవ్ చేసేలా చేస్తుంది. కుటుంబ కలహాలు, వైరి వర్గంతో పగ లాంటి అంశాలు సబ్ ప్లాట్‌గా మారుతాయి. రవి తండ్రి మరణించిన సీన్ గుండెను పిండి వేస్తుంది. అలాగే తన అన్న కూతురు చిన్నారిని లింగం కిడ్నాప్ చేసిన సీన్ సినిమాకు హైలెట్‌గా మారుతుంది. సెకండాఫ్‌లో ట్విస్టులు, భావోద్వేగాలు సినిమాను మరో రేంజ్‌కు తీసుకెళ్తాయి. అయితే ఈ సినిమా నిడివి కథలోని బలాన్ని నిరసించేలా చేసింది. కనీసం 20 నిమిషాల నిడివి తగ్గిస్తే.. మరింత ఫీల్‌గుడ్ పెరగడమే కాకుండా మంచి ఎమోషన్స్‌ కూడా పండిస్తుంది.

అరుణ్ విజయ్, ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్ గురించి

రవి పాత్రలో అరుణ్ విజయ్ చక్కగా ఒదిగిపోయాడు. ఇప్పటి వరకు ఓ రేంజ్ హీరోగా ముద్ర వేసుకొన్న అరుణ్.. ఈ చిత్రంలో పలు రకాల వేరియేషన్స్‌ ఉన్న పాత్రను తనదైన ఫెర్ఫార్మెన్స్‌తో దడదడలాడించాడు. యాక్షన్ సీన్లలో చెలరేగిపోయాడు. ఇక హీరోయిన్‌గా ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్ గ్లామర్ పరంగా ఆకట్టుకొన్నది. కథలో కూడా కీలకంగా మారిన పాత్రను తనదైన శైలిలో నటించి మెప్పించింది.

సముద్రఖని పవర్‌ఫుల్ పాత్రలో

ఇక మిగితా పాత్రల విషయానికి వస్తే.. సముద్రఖని తన పాత్రకు పూర్తి న్యాయం చేశాడు. అంతేకాకుండా సినిమాకు వెన్నుముకగా మారిన పాత్రను అద్బుతంగా పోషించాడు. సెకండాఫ్‌లో అరుణ్ విజయ్, సముద్రఖని పాత్రల మధ్య పోటీ ఆకట్టుకొనేలా ఉంటుంది. రాధిక శరత్ కుమార్, ఐశ్వర్య, లింగంగా గరుడ రామ్ ఆకట్టుకొన్నాడు. ఇక యోగి బాబు కామెడీ సినిమాకు మరో హైలెట్. ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో సాగదీత అనిపిస్తున్న క్రమంలో యోగి బాబు పేల్చిన డైలాగ్స్ థియేటర్లో నవ్వులపూలు పూయించాయి.

టెక్నికల్ విభాగాల పనితీరు

సాంకేతిక విభాగాల విషయానికి వస్తే.. జీవీ ప్రకాశ్ కుమార్ అందించిన మ్యూజిక్ సినిమాకు ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. సినిమాటోగ్రాఫర్ ఎస్ గోపినాథ్ అందించిన విజ్వుల్ గ్రాండ్‌గా ఉన్నాయి. యాక్షన్ సీన్లు, సముద్ర తీరం అందాలు, బోట్ చేజింగ్స్‌ను అద్బుతంగా చిత్రీకరించాడు. ఎడిటర్‌కు ఇంకా చాలా పని ఉందనే ఫీలింగ్ కలుగుతుంది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి. హరి మార్కు టేకింగ్, స్క్రీన్ ప్లే ఈ సినిమాకు అత్యంత బలంగా మారాయి. సెకండాఫ్‌లో ట్విస్టులు, ప్రీ క్లైమాక్స్ నుంచి క్లైమాక్స్ వరకు వచ్చే సీన్లు పవర్‌ఫుల్‌గా ఉంటాయి.

Enugu Review: Perfect blend of action and drama

A family conflict stirred with elements of love and garnished with humour. Simply put, that’s what the movie ‘Enugu’ is.

An action drama in Tamil dubbed in Telugu, the movie is written and helmed by popular director Hari. The cast includes Arun Vijay, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Ammu Abhirami, Ramachandra Raju, and Radikaa Sarathkumar playing important roles.

However, ‘Enugu’ is carried solely on the performance of Arun Vijay who gives his everything for the role. While Radikaa handles her role with her usual winning performance, Yogi Babu’s humour does evoke a laughter here and there.

The story revolves around four brothers from a reputed family with the eldest one having strong religious and caste beliefs. Along with the fourth of the siblings, Arun Vijay, born to stepmother Radikaa, all live as one big family which runs prawns export business. It is Arun who looks out for everyone and defends them from their adversaries.

The issue of marriage creates fissures among the otherwise closely-knit family and as differences mount and misunderstandings separate them, plans are drawn by adversaries to eliminate Arun and Radikaa. When these plans go awry and the enemy instead targets Arun’s elder brother, the family comes together to forgive the younger one and welcome him back home.

Editing of the movie is by Anthony while Gopinath took care of cinematography. With soundtrack for the movie composed by GV Prakash Kumar, ‘Enugu’ is Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar’s second movie together after ‘Mafia: Chapter 1’. A large part of the movie is filmed around Tamil Nadu.

What's Behind

Kollywood star Arun Vijay's Yaanai is releasing in Telugu as Enugu. The fim generated interest among movie lovers as it is directed by Hari who is known for his high-octane action entertainers like the Singham series. Let us find out what impact Enugu made on movie lovers.

Story Review

Ravi (Arun Vijay) takes care of the well-being of his family which is influential and ensures that he thwarts all the threats from his opponents. His family comprises his parents' father (Rajesh) and Muthyalu (Radhika Sarathkumar), brothers Ramachandra (Samuthirakhani), and his niece (Ammu Abhirami). But things fall apart when his niece goes missing. Where this leads to and what is his connection to Jeba Mary (Priya Bhavani Shankar), Lingam (Ramachandra Raju), and Samuthiram (Jayapalan) should be unraveled on the big screen.

Artists, Technicians Review

Director Hari is known for his high-octane and intense action entertainers. His films are racy and this too followed the same template. But it seems Director Hari decided to give a breather to the viewers by toning down his racy screenplay a bit and including lot of hilarious scenes and emotional scenes. He ensured that the powerful dialogues delivered by the lead actors will not be overboard but will be delivered in a normal manner. The first half is racy and impactful and straight to the point. Coming into the second half, sentiments take the center stage and the slow pace of sentiment scenes impacted the racy narration. Even the comedy track acted as a deviation. Director Hari turned the weak and routine story into an interesting one with his screenplay and direction. For most of the time in the first half, he succeeded. However he lost steam in the second half and with routine elements, the interest among viewers evaporated.

Arjun Vijay performed well in his role.  He maintained a slim and trim physique and showed powerful and intense emotions and expressions. He also did powerful stunts to thrill the masses. Radhika Sarathkumar played an impactful role as the mother and moved with her emotions. Samuthirakhani is fine in the role which offered nothing new. Priya Bhavani Shankar got limited scope to perform. Ammu Abhirami is good. Ramachandra Rao looked menacing on screen. Yogi Babu at times tried to evoke laughter with routine comedy.

GV. Prakash Kumar's couple of songs is mass-oriented and foot-tapping. He elevated the scenes with his background music. The cinematography of Gopinath is fine. The editing of Antony could have been better especially in the second half. Dialogues are powerful and at times sent a strong message to society. Production values are good.

Hari planned an emotional mass storm with Arun Vijay's Enugu. But the inconsistent screenplay and the weak conflict point spoiled the party. Enugu had all the elements for a powerful mass hit, but routine narration, illogical scenes, weak comedy, lack of powerful conflicts and the missing emotions impacted the film in a big way. Following all these developments,  CJ goes with a 2.25 rating for Enugu.

'Enugu' hit the screens this Friday. In this section, we are going to review the mass action drama.

Ravi (Arun Vijay) is the youngest son of a prominent business tycoon (Rajesh), who also has three sons played by Samuthirakani, Bose Venkat and Sanjeev from his first wife. The family unwittingly causes the death of their archrival's son (Ramachandra Raju), besides causing his twin (also Ramachandra Raju) to be sentenced to a seven-year jail term. The twin comes back from jail and vows to finish off the family. How Ravi rises to the occasion to save his family in the context of a casteissm-peppered madness forms the crux of the story.

Arun Vijay gets to play a proper commercial action hero role, pulling off fights, sentiment and love with panache. The Kollywood hero, known for Prabhas' 'Saaho', hits the bull's eye. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the heroine and she is a talent to watch out for. 'KGF' fame Ramachandra Raju is proving to be a good choice of late; he was able even in the disastrous Telugu movie 'Bhala Thandanana' recently. Comedian Yogi Babu's timing works. Radhika Sarathkumar gets to display her talent in the second half more. 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' and 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' baddie Samuthirakani is good. Bose Venkat, Imman Annachi and others are impressive.

GV Prakash Kumar's 'Yelamma Yela' and 'Tandavam' make the cut. His BGM is steeped in the flavour of rustic Tamil movies. Over the years, this variety of music has worked for the Telugu audience as well. Gopinath's camera work and Antony's editing are on par.

Director Hari has narrated a story that hits home, especially when it raises inconvenient questions about casteism and caste-driven notions of honour. The first half balances the sentiment part, the conflict inside Ravi's family, the love track between Ravi and the heroine, and the situational comedy dominated by Yogi Babu.  

In the second half, as Ravi and his family run out of time, tension is built slowly and surely. The track around Ammu Abhirami's character is milked fully in the second half. The last 30 minutes are high on action and tense moments. The dialogues spun around the villain's character are effective.

A few moments feel forced, though. For example, Ravi reacting violently on an occasion and profusely apologizing to the heroin for his extreme behaviour doesn't quite convince you. Despite such pitfalls, 'Enugu' manages to keep the audience engaged.

'Enugu' is rooted in the Tamil flavour. Director Hari, however, tells a story with universal emotions. Watch it for a rural action drama replete with emotions.

తమిళ దర్శకుడు హరికి యాక్షన్ మూవీస్ డైరెక్టర్ గా మంచి గుర్తింపు ఉంది. సూర్యతో తీసిన ‘సింగం’ సీరిస్ చక్కని విజయాన్ని అందుకోవడంతో అతని నుండి అలాంటి సినిమాలనే ప్రేక్షకులూ ఆశిస్తుంటారు. బహుశా ఆ ఉద్దేశ్యంతోనే కావచ్చు అరుణ్ విజయ్ తో అదే తరహాలో ‘యానీ’ చిత్రాన్ని రూపొందించాడు హరి. అది తెలుగులో ‘ఏనుగు’ పేరుతో డబ్ అయ్యింది. ఈ శుక్రవారం తమిళ, తెలుగు వర్షన్ రెండూ ఒకేసారి విడుదలయ్యాయి.

రవి (అరుణ్ విజయ్) పీవీఆర్ కుటుంబంలో చిన్న కొడుకు. అతని అన్నలు ముగ్గురు (సముతిర కని, బోస్ వెంకట్, సంజీవ్) తన తండ్రి మొదటి భార్యకు పుడితే, రవి రెండో భార్య (రాధికా శరత్ కుమార్) కొడుకు. వారిది ఉమ్మడి కుటుంబం. అన్ని విషయాల్లోనూ దూకుడు ప్రదర్శించే రవి అంటే అన్నయ్యలకు అసలు పడదు. అయిన వారి పట్ల ఉన్న అభిమానంతో మీద కుటుంబ సభ్యుల మీద ఈగ వాలకుండా చూసుకుంటాడు రవి. అనుకోని సంఘటనల కారణంగా ఎంతోకాలంగా కలిసి ఉన్న పీవీఆర్ ఫ్యామిలీకి, సముద్రం (‘ఆడుకాలం జయబాలన్) కుటుంబానికి మధ్య వైరం ఏర్పడుతుంది. తమ్ముడి హత్య సమయంలో పోలీస్ ఆఫీసర్ ను కాల్చేసిన కారణంగా జైలుకు వెళ్ళిన సముద్రం కొడుకు లింగం (కేజీఎఫ్‌ రామచంద్రరాజు) పీవీఆర్ కుటుంబంపై పగపడతాడు. సముద్రం కుటుంబం నుండి తమ ఫ్యామిలీని రవి ఎలా కాపాడుకున్నాడు? తనను అన్నయ్యలు అపార్థం చేసుకున్నా ఎలా తట్టుకున్నాడు? ముస్లింను ప్రేమించి ఇల్లు వదిలి వెళ్ళిపోయిన పెద్దన్న కూతురు ఆచూకీ ఎలా సంపాదించాడు? తాను ప్రేమించిన క్రీస్టియన్ అమ్మాయిని ఎలా మెప్పించి పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాడు? అనేది మిగతా కథ.

‘ఏనుగు’ అనే టైటిల్ ను సింబాలిక్ గా పెట్టారు తప్పితే మరొకటి కాదు! ఉమ్మడి కుటుంబంలో ఉండే పొరపొచ్చలు, మరీ ముఖ్యంగా సవతి కొడుకును అన్నయ్యలు దూరం పెట్టడం, అయినా అతను వారి కోసం ప్రాణం ఇవ్వడానికి సిద్ధపడటం వంటి సంఘటనలు మనం చాలా సినిమాలలో చూసినవే. కానీ అరుణ్ ఈ తరహా పాత్రను పోషించడం మొదటిసారి. దర్శకుడు హరి తీసిన సినిమాల్లోనూ ఈ తరహా ఫ్యామిలీ సెంటిమెంట్ సీన్స్ కు కొదవలేదు. బాలకృష్ణ ‘నరసింహనాయుడు’, ఆ మధ్య వచ్చిన కార్తీ ‘చినబాబు’ అదే లైన్ లో రూపుదిద్దుకున్న సినిమాలే. రెగ్యులర్ హరి మూవీస్ లో ఉన్నట్టుగానే ఇందులోనూ భారీ యాక్షన్ సీక్వెన్స్ లున్నాయి. ఛేజింగ్స్ కు కొదవలేదు. అందువల్ల ఈ సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులకు కొత్త అనుభూతిని కలిగిస్తుందని చెప్పలేం. చాలా సన్నివేశాలలో అరుణ్ ను చూస్తుంటే సూర్య లేదా కార్తిని చూసినట్టే అనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ తరహా సినిమాలను వాళ్ళు గతంలో చేసి ఉండటమే దానికి కారణం. పీవీఆర్ ఫ్యామిలీకి, సముద్రం కుటుంబానికి మధ్య ఏర్పడిన వివాద సన్నివేశాలు ఆసక్తికరంగానే ఉన్నా, ద్వితీయార్థంలో అన్నకూతురును వెతుక్కుంటూ రవి తిరిగే సీన్స్ కారణంగా కథ దారితప్పింది. దానికి తోడు హీరోయిన్ ను హీరో అపార్థం చేసుకోవడం, క్షణికావేశానికి లోనుకావడం ఆ తర్వాత తప్పు తెలుసుకోవడం… ఇవన్నీ కథను మరింతగా సాగదీశాయి. ఇక రవి తండ్రి మరణం, ఆ తర్వాత వచ్చే సెంటిమెంట్ సీన్స్ లో తమిళ అతి బాగా కనిపిస్తుంది. బహుశా ఈ స్థాయి సెంటిమెంట్ లేకపోతే వాళ్ళ మనసుకు ఎక్కదనేది దర్శకుడి అనుమానం కావచ్చు. ఆ రకంగా చూస్తే తమిళులు ఈ సినిమాను ఓన్ చేసుకున్నట్టు తెలుగువారు చేసుకోవడం కష్టమే.

చిన్న కొడుకుగా, కుటుంబ భారాన్ని మోసేవాడిగా అరుణ్‌ విజయ్ బాగానే నటించాడు. గ్లామర్ కు పెద్ద పీటవేయకుండా అభినయానికే ప్రియ భవానీ శంకర్ పాత్రను పరిమితం చేశారు. ఈ సినిమాలో మరో కీలక పాత్రను అమ్ము అభిరామి పోషించింది. ఆమె తండ్రిగా సముతిర కని, బాబాయిలుగా బోస్ వెంకట్, సంజీవ్ నటించారు. ప్రతినాయకుడు లింగం పాత్రను కేజీఎఫ్‌ రామచంద్రరాజు, రవి తల్లిదండ్రులుగా రాధిక, రాజేశ్‌, పిన్నిగా ఐశ్వర్య తదితరులు నటించారు. యోగిబాబుతో పాటు పుగళ్ తో వినోదాన్ని అందించే ప్రయత్నం దర్శకుడు చేశాడు. యోగిబాబు చెప్పిన డైలాగ్స్ బాగానే పేలాయి. కానీ కొన్ని కామెడీ సీన్స్ మాత్రం పేలవంగా ఉన్నాయి. కుక్క పేరును తాను ఎందుకు పెట్టుకన్నాడో యోగిబాబు చెప్పిన తీరు ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ఇక ఒకరి చెంప ఒకరు పగలకొడ్డటం అనే అతిని భరించడం కొంచెం కష్టమే. జీవీ ప్రకాశ్ కుమార్ స్వరపరిచిన స్వరాలు, నేపథ్య సంగీతం మాస్ ను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకునే చేశారు. ఎస్. గోపీనాథ్ కెమెరాపనితనం బాగానే ఉంది. సినిమా మొత్తం మీద చెప్పుకోదగ్గ కొత్తదనం లేకపోయినా, ఫ్యామిలీ సెంటిమెంట్, యాక్షన్ చిత్రాలను ఇష్టపడే వారికి ఓ మోస్తరుగా నచ్చొచ్చు! ఈ సినిమాకు సంబంధించిన మరో విశేషం ఏమంటే… దర్శకుడు హరి హీరో అరుణ్ విజయ్ హాఫ్ సిస్టర్ ప్రీతికి భర్త! విజయ్ కుమార్ మొదటి భార్య కొడుకు అరుణ్ కాగా, రెండో భార్య మంజుల కూతురు ప్రీతి. సో దర్శకుడు హరి, కథానాయకుడు అరుణ్‌ విజయ్ బావ-బావమరుదులన్న మాట!!

అరుణ్‌ విజయ్, ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్‌ జంటగా నటించిన తమిళ చిత్రం ‘యానై’… తెలుగులో ఏనుగు పేరుతో రిలీజ్ అయ్యింది. కాగా ఈ చిత్రం ఈ రోజు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చింది. మరి ఈ మూవీ ఎలా ఉందో సమీక్షలో చూద్దాం.

రవి (అరుణ్‌ విజయ్) కుటుంబానికి ‘సముద్రం’ కుటుంబానికి మధ్య శత్రుత్వం ఉంటుంది. శత్రువుల నుంచి తన ఫ్యామిలీని కాపాడుకోవడానికి రవి కవచంలా నిలబడతాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో రవికి అతని కుటుంబంలోనే చెడ్డ పేరు వస్తోంది. రవి రెండో భార్య కొడుకు కావడంతో.. అతని సవతి అన్నయ్య (సముథ్రకని)కి రవి అంటే కోపం. అన్నదమ్ముల మధ్య పుట్టిన విబేధాల కారణంగా రవి జీవితం మలుపు తిరుగుతుంది ?, చివరకు రవి తన నిజాయితీని ఎలా రుజువు చేసుకున్నాడు ?, ఈ మధ్యలో మేరీ (ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్‌)తో రవి ప్రేమాయణం ఎలా సాగింది అనేది మిగిలిన కథ.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో ఎమోషనల్ కంటెంట్ తో పాటు మంచి ఫ్యామిలీ వాల్యూస్ ను బాగా చూపించడం జరిగింది. అలాగే ఈ సినిమాలో యాక్షన్, సెంటిమెంట్ కూడా బాగున్నాయి. ఇక ఈ కథ జరిగిన నేపధ్యమే ఈ సినిమాకి మరో ప్లస్ పాయింట్. అరుణ్ విజయ్ సున్నితమైన పాత్ర కూడా ఈ సినిమాకు ప్రధాన బలం. ముఖ్యంగా అరుణ్ విజయ్ భావోద్వేగమైన పాత్రలో బరువైన ఎమోషన్ పండించిన విధానం బాగుంది.

హీరోయిన్ ప్రియా భవానీ శంకర్‌ కూడా తన నటనతో మెప్పిస్తోంది. దర్శకుడు హరి రాసుకున్న స్క్రీన్ ప్లేలో ప్రతి పాత్రను కథలోకి తీసుకొచ్చిన విధానం మెచ్చుకోదగినది. సినిమా చివరకి వచ్చేసరికి ఏం జరుగుతుందో అనే ఉత్సుకతను దర్శకుడు బాగా మెయిటైన్ చేశాడు. నేపధ్య సంగీతం ఈ సినిమాకే హైలెట్. దర్శకుడు హరి టేకింగ్ సినిమాకు కావాల్సినంత ఎమోషన్ని అందించింది.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఎమోషనల్ గా సాగే పాత్రలతో ఈ సినిమా కొన్ని చోట్ల బాగా ఆకట్టుకున్నా.. కథనం పరంగా ఎలాంటి కొత్తధనం లేదు. అలాగే ఫస్టాఫ్ ను ఆసక్తికరమైన యాక్షన్ ఎమోషన్స్ తో బాగానే చూపించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు. అయితే అక్కడక్కడ అనవసరమైన సీన్స్ ను ఇరికించడం వల్ల.. సినిమాలోని సీరియస్ నెస్ మరియు సినిమా ప్లోను డిస్ట్రబ్ అయ్యింది.

దాంతో పాటు స్లోగా సాగే సీన్స్ తో కొన్నిచోట్ల స్క్రీన్ ప్లే ను నెమ్మదిగా నడిపారు. సెకెండ్ హాఫ్ లో కూడా కొన్ని సీన్స్ మెలో డ్రామాలా స్లోగా సాగుతాయి. ముఖ్యంగా కొన్ని సీన్స్ ను అనవసరంగా లాగడం వల్ల ఆ సాగ తీత సీన్స్ లో ఇంట్రస్ట్ మిస్ అయింది. అలాగే మధ్యమధ్యలో వచ్చే లాజిక్ లేని ఎమోషనల్ ట్రాక్ కూడా కొంత ఇబ్బంది పెడుతుంది.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం :

దర్శకుడు హరి దర్శకత్వ విషయంలో ఈ సినిమాకు పూర్తి న్యాయం చేశారు. అయితే రచయితగా మాత్రం ఆయన విఫలం అయ్యారు. ఎమోషన్ అండ్ ఫీల్ వంటి అంశాలని సమపాళ్లలో ఉంచి సగటు ప్రేక్షకుడిని అలరించే సినిమాను మాత్రం దర్శకుడు హరి తయారుచేయలేకపోయారు. సంగీత దర్శకుడు అందించిన నేపధ్య సంగీతం బాగుంది. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సినిమాకి తగట్లు ఉంది. నిర్మాత ప్రొడక్షన్ డిజైన్ కూడా ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది.

యాక్షన్ అండ్ ఎమోషనల్ ఫ్యామిలీ డ్రామాగా వచ్చిన ఈ ‘ఏనుగు’ చిత్రంలో అరుణ్ విజయ్ నటన, అలాగే ఈ సినిమా మెయిన్ థీమ్ మరియు కొన్ని యాక్షన్ అండ్ ఎమోషనల్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. అయితే, సెకెండ్ హాఫ్ లో కొన్ని సీన్స్ చాలా స్లోగా సాగడం, అలాగే రెగ్యులర్ ప్లే, బోరింగ్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ వంటి అంశాలు సినిమాకి డ్రా బ్యాగ్స్ గా నిలుస్తాయి. మొత్తం మీద ఈ ‘చిత్రం’ ఫ్యామిలీ ఎమోషన్స్ కోరుకునే ప్రేక్షకులను ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. మిగిలిన వర్గాల ప్రేక్షకులకు మాత్రం ఈ సినిమా నచ్చదు.

Enugu Movie Review and Rating!

Tamil actor-director duo Arun Vijay and Hari’s action drama, Yaanai had a simultaneous release in Telugu as Enugu on July 1st. Let’s see how it is.

Story: The younger brother in a joint family headed by three brothers and their families, Ravi( Arjun Vijay) keeps protecting his family from rivalry family. As a sudden shock, Ravi’s elder brother Ramachandran( Samuthirakani) ’s daughter Papa( Ammu Abhirami) elopes from the house with her boyfriend. After this incident, disturbances happen in the joint family and Ravi will be sent out of the house blaming that he is the main reason behind Samuthirakani’s daughter’s love track. To prove his innocence, Ravi goes out from home along with his mother( Radhikaa Sarathkumar) and starts searching for the whereabouts of Papa. After an intense search, Ravi finds out Papa’s identity. How is the rivalry gang head Lingam( Ramachandra Raju) interconnected with the proceedings? To know that, you have to watch the film in the theatre near you.

Performances: Arun Vijay did his part perfectly as a younger brother in the family. While his intense acting during the second half brings authentic flavour to the screen, Arun’s getup and makeup as a person from a small town are done nicely and elevate the mood of the film.

As an aggressive-natured elder brother, Samuthirakani did a good job. The other two guys who played brother roles are also okay in their key roles

Ramachandra Raju is apt in his negative shaded character. Other artists in the rivalry gang did their part quite effectively. Actor Yogi Babu generates good fun in his sidekick role.

Actress Ammu Abhirami gets a meaty role and the talented actress did justice to her role. Heroine Priya Bhavani Shankar is cute on-screen and her chemistry with Arun Vijay is projected nicely. Radhikaa Sarathkumar and other ladies who did key roles in the family setup are convincing with their performance.

Technicalities: The photography work by S Gopinath is nice as he captured the natural locations in rural areas in a superb manner. His colour texture adds realistic flavour to the screen. GV Prakash did a decent job as a musician. Along with two emotional-coated situational songs, his background score is done perfectly for all action blocks.

The editing work by Anthony is alright as he made sure that the film has any unwanted scenes. Production values for this limited-budget actioner are good.

Analysis: Director Hari who is widely known for making cop dramas has come up with a family drama this time. While is racy screenplay is largely engaging, the wafer-thin storyline and typical melodrama episodes between the family members might not get universal approval.

The confrontation episodes between Ramachandra Raju and Arun Vijay bring authentic texture to this actioner. Apart from action and melodrama episodes between the family members, Enugu has nothing much like commercial songs and glamorous treat to attract the audience.

To summerize, Enugu is an action-packed family drama that has a few engaging moments in both halves but the slow-paced proceedings during the pre-climax portions come as a demerit for this actioner.

Verdict: Formulaic action drama!

Nunakkuzhi Movie Review In Telugu: మలయాళ డైరెక్టర్ జీతు జోసెఫ్‌కు తెలుగులోను మంచి క్రేజ్ ఉంది. ఆయన నుంచి వచ్చిన దృశ్యం, దృశ్యం 2, నెరు, 12th మ్యాన్ సినిమాలు మంచి సక్సెస్ సాధించాయి. అయితే ఇవన్ని క్రైమ్ అండ్ ఇన్వెస్టిగేషన్‌ జానర్‌లో సాగుతుంటాయి. కానీ, తన స్టైల్‌కు విభిన్నంగా కామెడీ జానర్‌లో జీతు జోసెఫ్ తెరకెక్కించిన సినిమానే నునాక్కుజి.

తండ్రి మరణించడంతో ఎండీగా కంపెనీ బాధ్యతలు తీసుకుంటాడు ఎబీ జకారియా (బసిల్ జోసెఫ్). పెళ్లై మూడు నెలలు అయిన ఎబీకి కంపెనీ వ్యవహారాలను పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోడు. భార్యతోనే మాట్లాడుతుంటాడు. ఈ సమయంలోనే ఇన్‌కమ్ ట్యాక్స్ ఆఫీసర్స్ వచ్చి కొన్ని లెక్కలు సరిగా లేవని ఎబీ ల్యాప్‌టాప్‌తో సహా కొన్ని వస్తువులు సీజ్ చేసి పట్టుకుపోతారు. అయితే, ఆ ల్యాప్‌ట్యాప్‌లో తన భార్యతో ఇంటిమేట్ అయిన వీడియో ఉంటుంది.

అర్థరాత్రి ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తులు ఓ హోటల్‌కు వెళ్లడం, అక్కడ పెద్ద గొడవ జరగడంతో సినిమా స్టార్ట్ అవుతుంది. ఈ ఇద్దరిని బైక్‌పై చూపిస్తూ వచ్చే పాటతో సినిమా కథను చెప్పి చెప్పినట్లుగా దాదాపుగా రివీల్ చేశారు. కానీ, క్లైమాక్స్ వస్తేకానీ అది అర్థం కాదు. ఎబీ కంపెనీ బాధ్యతలు తీసుకోవడం, ఇన్‌కమ్ ట్యాక్స్ రైడ్ జరగడం, ల్యాప్‌ట్యాప్ సీజ్ చేయడం, అందులో భార్యతో కలిసి ఉన్న ప్రైవేట్ వీడియో ఉండటం అంతా ఫాస్ట్‌గా సాగిపోతుంది.

మరోవైపు రష్మిత రంజిత్ డివోర్స్, డెంటిస్ట్‌పై రివేంజ్ తీర్చుకోవడం వంటివి చూపిస్తూ కథలోని లీనమయ్యేలా చేశారు. ఆ తర్వాత ల్యాప్‌ట్యాప్‌ను దక్కించుకునేందుకు ఎబీ చేసే ప్రయత్నాలు, పురుగుల మందు తాగిన ఎబీని కాపాడేక్రమంలో రష్మిత ఇరుక్కోవడం, వారిని ఎస్సై ఇంట్రాగేట్ చేయడం, మరోవైపు హీరో సుందర్ స్వామినాథన్‌కు ఇన్‌కమ్ ట్యాక్స్ ఆఫీసర్ మేనల్లుడు సినిమా కథ చెప్పడం సన్నివేశాలతో బోర్ కొట్టకుండా అలా సాగిపోతుంది.
