The Ph.D. Program in Psychology prepares students for research, teaching, and practice in the various fields of psychology, and is organized into ten different training areas. The master’s degree in Spanish provides opportunities for professional advancement in teaching and professional fields that require a good knowledge of other languages and cultures. It is also a means of intellectual development for those who want to expand their knowledge in the humanities. The MA may be taken either as a final degree or as preparation for doctoral work. It is accepted in lieu of the first year of study in the PhD program at the City University. See the Bulletin of the Graduate Center for a description of the PhD programs.
